New video lessons launched to support girls in PE

Studio You releases three new sessions for 2026, in partnership with Nike, to help teachers build girls' confidence and participation in PE.

9th September 2026

Studio You, a digital platform developed with our This Girl Can team and We. Social Impact, has launched three new PE lessons in partnership with Nike for the 2026-27 academic year – designed to help girls enjoy being active.

Available from today on the Nike hub on the Studio You platform, the new dance, fitness and yoga lessons have been developed to help more girls aged 11-16 feel confident taking part in PE, while providing teachers with ready-to-use resources that can be delivered as complete PE lessons.

Building on the success of the first year of the Studio You x Nike partnership, the new content features longer-form video lessons, each lasting between 20 and 30 minutes and guiding students through a full session, including warm-up, skill development, practice and cool-down.

Our senior campaign activation manager, Dani Ward, highlights that, as with previous Studio You content, girls’ voices have been at the heart of the new lessons.

"Every girl deserves the chance to enjoy being active and feel confident in PE," Dani said.

"The new Studio You x Nike lessons have been developed in response to what girls and teachers told us they wanted: activities that are engaging, inclusive and easy to use in a real school setting.

"By providing complete PE lessons in dance, fitness and yoga, Studio You makes it easier for teachers to offer positive experiences that help girls build skills, grow in confidence and discover what moves them.

"We're excited to see schools across the country bring these sessions to life this academic year."

Addressing the gender activity gap

The new content supports our wider ambition to tackle long-standing inequalities in activity levels. Research shows that girls' enjoyment of PE falls significantly between the ages of eight and 15, while fewer girls than boys meet the Chief Medical Officers' recommended activity levels.

By helping girls have more positive, inclusive experiences of PE, Studio You aims to build confidence, enjoyment and a sense of belonging in physical activity from an early age – inspiring more positive relationships with movement which girls can take into adult life.

Building on what’s worked

The 2026 videos have been developed following feedback from girls and teachers, who highlighted the importance of clear progression, opportunities to build confidence over time and resources that can be easily integrated into PE lessons.

Each lesson is delivered by Nike trainers and includes different intensity levels and movement adaptations demonstrated by a support instructor, helping teachers create inclusive environments where all girls can participate in a way that works for them.

Studio You: the story so far

Backed by us with more than £2 million of National Lottery funding, Studio You was developed alongside the team behind This Girl Can and in partnership with girls and teachers.

During the 2024-25 academic year, more than 722,000 girls were potentially exposed to Studio You content and more than 72% of secondary schools registered to use the platform.

Evaluation of the first year of the Studio You x Nike partnership found that girls who used the content reported feeling less stressed, more included and more comfortable taking part in PE.

Teachers highlighted the flexibility and inclusivity of the resources, as well as the appeal of Nike-branded content.

The platform now offers more than 175 video lessons, activities, tips and resources designed to support more inclusive and enjoyable PE experiences for girls.
